Colin Dean

Colin Dean is an Applications Engineer at Vivisimo. He earned his B.S. degree in Computer Science from Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA, and his M.S. degree in Business Education from Robert Morris University. He was previously a developer for a promotional marketing company in Pittsburgh, and a technical college instructor in Youngstown, OH. Programming since he was 10, he's a PHPer and Rubyist, but he's prone to Pythonism and Schemeing from time to time. He has used Linux in some capacity since 2001, and developed a CD-bootable, flash network router Linux distribution. He contributes to Ubuntu Linux, primarily translating applications to Esperanto. He is also president of the Pittsburgh LAN Coalition, a video gaming organization.

Every company defines and enforces policies concerning the acceptable use of information and information systems.  Failure to do so can leave a company vulnerable to the financial, legal and reputational risks associated with such unacceptable uses as copyright infringement, sexual harassment, spam and malicious hacking.
